The nine months the viral version leaves out

The story that spread after his death held that Felz was about to release a hoard of suppressed Masonic texts, that the release was set for roughly 72 hours before he died, and that the archive was then seized or scrubbed. The last part is plainly false — the site is live and unscrubbed today. The rest requires a distinction the coverage never made, and that this page got wrong in its first version.

He said, from October 2025, that the texts would go out free. Whether any of them actually did is a separate question, and the answer is not established. A promise and a delivery are different events, and only one of them is documented here.

The site he built, and what it does now

Everything below was read directly at the live site and at the Internet Archive on 8 August 2026.

The paywall predates his death by 97 days. The earliest archive capture of felzbooks.com is 28 April 2026, and it already carries the same three-tier structure the site carries today — Seeker, Natural, Supernatural, "Download with donation," the marketplace and its cut. This settles a question the coverage never asked: the paid structure was not erected by survivors, or by whoever runs the site now. He built it himself, while alive.

It also kills a viral claim outright. The story that he "died days before launching a site to give these texts away free" is false on the archive record. The site was already live, already priced, and already behind a login.

Tier names and feature strings Verified — read verbatim from the live page. The monthly amounts are Partial: they are rendered client-side and are not in the server HTML, so they could not be confirmed here. Note what sits in the top tier — uploading scans, the exact volunteer labour he had publicly asked for in December 2025, is a paid feature.

The site also states: "Watermarked Downloads — Download complete books as PDF. Every copy uniquely watermarked for protection," and "Protected Access — Verified registration only. Government domains blocked. Every action traceable."

Where the money went

Clicking Register does not open an account on felzbooks.com. It 303-redirects to felzenergy.com/soulpower/register/ — a subscription store on his own solar company's domain, billed as "FelzBooks Subscription." The archive funnels into his other businesses. Verified redirect followed here

And none of it works. As of today every content route — /library, /books, /read, /explore, /collection, /browse, /book/1, /api/books — 303-redirects to the login wall, and the sitemap that would list them returns a server error, and the commerce layer behind it returns HTTP 500 on every path while felzenergy.com's front page loads fine. Nobody can register, sign in, view, or download anything: free, donating, or paying. The archive that was going to be free is currently reachable by no one at all. Verified

The break has a name and a location. Login is not handled by felzbooks.com at all; it is handed to an identity provider called SoulPower, running at felzenergy.com — again, his solar company's domain. Four SoulPower endpoints were checked: the root, the login page, the register page, and the OAuth authorisation URL the site itself redirects to, carrying FelzBooks' own client ID. All four returned HTTP 500, with no redirect target and an empty body. Polled at roughly five-minute intervals on 8 August 2026, eighteen consecutive checks from 07:58 to 09:23 UTC returned the same error, and the nineteenth got no response at all. FelzBooks is up. Which is also an evidentiary problem, and worth saying out loud: while that door is shut, nobody outside can establish what is behind it either. The outage forecloses the check that would settle the question.

One more small thing, once you look. The homepage's "Explore the Collection" button is an anchor to a section further down the same page, and the images in it are decorative artworks served from /static/images/landing/ — Death on the Pale Horse, Judgment of Solomon, Ezra Reads the Law. They are not book scans. The collection you are invited to explore is a mood board.

The page says so itself, in its own alt text. Each card is labelled Gustave Doré (1866) — public-domain engravings, correctly attributed by whoever built the page, sitting under headings that read Genesis · 1812 Bible and Book of Esdras · Apocrypha. The label names a nineteenth-century French engraver; the heading above it names a book from the collection. Verified page source, live and archived

Separately, and higher up the same file, the full-bleed image behind the headline carries an unrendered developer's note: Ethereal background: local mock art until DB-backed landing content is ready. That comment sits on the hero backdrop, not on the collection cards sixty lines below it, and it is quoted here for what it is — a note about one decorative image, written by someone who intended to swap it for real content later. It is still there in the last capture.

What the crawlers found

The question underneath all of this is simple to state and hard to answer: was there ever a library on that site? One half of it can be settled from public records, and it has been.

Across every window anyone can now inspect, no document was reachable from outside the login. The archives reach back to late April 2026, which is most of the site's life but not all of it. The Internet Archive's index of felzbooks.com holds captures of the homepage, the about page, the fonts, and the about-page photographs. For /books/*, /library/*, /media/* and the API's document endpoints it holds nothing at all — not a failed fetch, not an error page, no record of the path existing. Common Crawl has no captures of the domain. A URLScan search of it returns none. And a sweep of 2,203 candidate paths — the login, admin, guest, preview, share and break-glass patterns a site like this would use — produced exactly two pages that answered without an account, both of them the same admin login form; forty-one genuine 404s; and every other path redirected to the wall. The bucket hostname the app's own content policy points at answers 401, and is not listable.

Read precisely, that is a finding about the public face and only the public face: nothing that a crawler could reach was ever a book. It is not a finding about what sat behind the wall, and the same records cannot speak to that. Establishing it either way would take one of three things — a logged-in session capture showing real file URLs, an inventory of the storage bucket, or a PDF in a subscriber's hands with the site's own watermark on it. None of the three is in public reach, and the login has been down since at least 8 August.

The thing he actually wanted is not complicated, and it did not need a website. The books he held up on camera are old enough to belong to everybody, and they are collected on this site, free, at The Books, Free.

What would be unfair to say

The record cuts both ways and the exculpatory parts are as documented as the rest.

He ran no Patreon, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, crypto wallet, merchandise store, or paid course. He publicly refused money for the scans — "Please don't offer me money" — and meant it enough to say it in the same breath as the promise. FelzHouse, his iOS app, is a free contracting tool with no in-app purchases. "Building Reality" was a free YouTube series. Before the site, his monetisation was ordinary influencer affiliate links, the same as thousands of creators.

The GoFundMe that exists was organised by a friend, for funeral costs. The "plant a tree" and "send flowers" memorial pages are content farms exploiting his death — that is something done to him, not by him.

No evidence exists that anyone was ever actually charged. The checkout has been unreachable throughout. And the model the site describes — reading free, paying only for search tools and community features — is a legitimate way to fund an archive. It is roughly what several respectable digital libraries do.

The strongest caveat, stated plainly: the library sits behind a login this desk could not pass, and did not attempt to pass by creating an account. Non-delivery inside the site is therefore absence of evidence, not proof of absence. There may be complete scans behind that wall. Nobody outside can see them, which is a different problem from their not existing.

Two identities worth keeping straight, because both are one search away from a libel: a "$97 wholesaling course" at realestatementoringusa.com belongs to Joseph Bodek, a different person with no connection to Felz. And archive.org results for "Joe Felz" surface the former Fullerton, California city manager — also a different person.

What he said about his family

He talked about his children in public, in his own voice, and the way he talked about them changed.

On a real-estate podcast in January 2024 they appear as an item in a list of things that were supposed to have made him happy: "I'd been sober for 12 years, I sponsored people, I was married, I had two kids, I'd done everything that society told me to be happy and I was absolutely miserable." A 2023 interview uses the same construction — "got married, had children" — inside the same inventory. Verified — his own words.

By January 2026, in the profile that ran three weeks after he settled in Costa Rica, the framing had inverted. Asked what mattered most, he named getting his children back as his single priority, and described the path to it as uncertain. Partial — a translated, staff-bylined outlet.

This page does not name his children. He never did either, across years of near-daily posting on five platforms — a decision of his own that is worth respecting now that he cannot be asked. What he said about them, he said; that is on the record above.

What the state record actually says

Georgia's corporate registry was checked directly, and it settles three things.

The founding date. His bios say Felz Investment Group was founded in 2011. The state record says the LLC was formed on 29 July 2015 — control number 15075498, registered agent Joseph Felz, 3211 Old Louisville Road, Augusta, Richmond County. A four-year gap between the story and the filing. It may be nothing more than a business that operated before it was formalised, which is common. Verified

A competing claim. A widely circulated summary of this case asserts the company was registered on 9 January 2019, with a Sarah Felz as its organizer. The formation date is wrong — the state record says 2015 — and Georgia's public view for an LLC does not publish an organizer field at all, so that detail cannot have come from the filing it claims to cite. The divorce, from the court's own docket

Felz spoke publicly about his marriage ending. He described "an unexpected divorce" to an interviewer, and told a podcast audience in January 2024 that being married had been part of doing "everything that society told me to be happy." He never named the other party.

The timing is worth noting: the case was filed in the same month, May–June 2022, that he has always dated the start of van life to. The thing he described as a spiritual departure from a life that had made him miserable begins, in the court record, as a divorce.

One honest limit, which applies to everything in this section. Court dockets carry no addresses or dates of birth, so nothing in the files themselves states that this Joseph Felz is the Joe Felz of this story. The connection rests on the county, the rare surname, the middle initial, and the timing — a strong inference, graded Partial on that point alone. Several Felzes appear in these dockets, which is what one would expect of a family that has lived in Augusta for decades.

The rest of the file

A search of the same docket system by party name returns five Richmond County matters involving the surname. They are public records and they are set out here in full, because a piece that argues for documents over hearsay cannot then select among the documents it found.

The rest of that origin story — eight felony convictions, leaving prison with $50, a first house at $19,000, a portfolio of about 65 properties — could not be corroborated by any record. No Georgia Department of Corrections file, booking record, or court docket surfaced. It is worth saying that he was telling it consistently in public as far back as a January 2024 podcast appearance, so it was not invented around his death. It remains Unverified.

The machine is still running

This is the part of the story that has not been resolved by anything that happened on Thursday, and the part most likely to still be true next month.

FelzBooks is live right now. It was live before he died and it is live today, and the pre-death capture of 28 April carries the same subscription structure the site carries now — same tiers, same "Download with donation," same marketplace taking its cut. There is no memorial notice on it. There is no death notice on it.

A precision that matters: the site solicits money. Whether it has ever taken any is unknown — the checkout currently returns HTTP 500, and no evidence exists that anyone was ever actually charged. This section is about a live apparatus with nobody's name on it, not about proven revenue.

No public source identifies who operates it or who receives the money. It has not been confirmed to be Alxzondra, and it has not been confirmed to be an estate. That is not an accusation of anything — it is a gap, and it is the largest one left.

Two things are worth holding at once here. The first is that no new monetisation appeared after the death — no fundraiser, no merchandise, no memorial product, no crypto wallet, no course. Searches of GoFundMe's index return nothing. That is a meaningful negative finding and it cuts against the reading that this was monetised on purpose.

The second is that the pre-existing machine kept running with nobody's name on it. Those are compatible. A subscription site does not take itself down because its founder died; it comes down when a person decides to take it down, and no person has been identified who could — which is also why the price cards are still up, and still broken, five days later.
